65 Flights Likely In The Initial Phase From Noida Airport

The Techno-Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) estimates that 5 million people will use the airport in its first year.

When Noida International Airport (NIA), which is being developed near Gautam Buddha Nagar's Jewar, begins commercial operations as anticipated by the end of 2024, Government experts estimate that the airport may be able to support up to 65 flights.

The number of flights that would be feasible from Noida airport is presently the subject of negotiations, according to insiders, between the Uttar Pradesh government and Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), the corporation in charge of building the NIA. The trial run of the flight is expected to begin by the end of February 2024, according to sources.

25 of the roughly 65 flights being considered will be reserved. Will be categorized as "Normal" and connect to significant cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Along with this, a total of 37 journeys would be classified as "Regional"; these trips would go to smaller cities where airplanes don't fly as often. According to sources, the Noida airport will also start serving two foreign flights and one freight jet.

Singaporean and Dubai-based airlines are being taken into consideration for international carriers. If the attempt to choose two foreign airlines does not succeed, Indian carriers would be chosen for international travel from Noida Airport, according to a representative.

The Techno-Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) estimates that 5 million people will use the airport in its first year of operation. According to the representative, "The challenge will be to attract travelers, to create a welcoming environment so that people choose Jewar instead of IGI Airport for their travel."

The 1,334-hectare area is perfectly situated in Jewar and is reachable by road from the NCR and Western UP. IGI Airport is only 72 miles away, Noida is 40 km away, and Agra is 130 km away. The Yamuna Expressway is 700 meters distant, while State Highway 22A, which connects Palwal and Aligarh, is 30 kilometers away.
