Noida: Proposal to charge homeowners extra for registering flats

A portion of homebuyers are reluctant to pay this additional amount because they have already made their complete payment to the realtor for their specific unit.

NOIDA: The resolution professional appointed by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) for Supertech Limited's six pending housing projects in Noida and Greater Noida has suggested that if buyers choose to pay additional money against their apartment, he can register the property, as registration is only possible after the Noida Authority's land cost dues are paid.

According to Hitesh Goel, the resolution professional (RP), the additional money to be paid to the Noida Authority will be repaid after the firm dealing with the stalled housing projects receives more money in the future.

Some homebuyers, however, are hesitant to pay this additional money because they have already paid the realtor in full for their specific apartment in a housing complex.

Meanwhile, the Noida authority has stated that if the RP's plan does not impose an additional burden on homeowners or consumers, they will investigate it.

The RP manages six projects for Supertech Limited: Romano and Capetown in Noida, Ecovillage I, Czar, and Ecovillage III in Greater Noida, and Upcountry in the Yamuna Expressway area.

On March 24, 2022, the NCLAT appointed Goel to take leadership of Supertech Limited and make all decisions for the company. Supertech Limited is facing corporate insolvency proceedings after failing to pay ₹431 crore to Union Bank of India.

There are 20 housing projects, with six in Noida and Greater Noida. Goel mentioned that other projects are in Gurugram, Meerut, and Dehradun, among other cities.
