Greater Noida: Work will soon start on a multi-modal logistics center

Queries from prospective bidders for agency will be taken till November 28, and the pre-bid conference will be place on December 8.

GREATER NOIDA: The Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL) has begun the process of starting work on the Multi-Model Logistics Hub (MMLH) in the Bodaki area of the city, which is close to Dadri. On Friday, they issued a tender that is important for choosing an expert agency for the project. Officials said that applicants began submitting their bids on Sunday.

The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)- IITGNL has set aside ₹5,881 crore for this Multi-Modal Logistics Hub, which is said to be the biggest logistics project in the country. The project will change how freight is handled and how goods are moved around in this area, which will have Noida International Airport open by the end of 2025.

The logistics hub will be built on 311 hectares in Bodaki, which is in the Dadri subdivision of Greater Noida. This is where the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC) meet. "This is where both corridors meet, which is a huge advantage because it will directly connect industries in Noida, Greater Noida, and nearby districts with the national freight corridors and, later, with the new airport in Jewar. This will create a strong logistics and export ecosystem," said Ravi Kumar NG, CEO of IITGNL.

According to officials, the DMIC IITGNL is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and the UP government are working on together through the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).

Officials added that the planned logistics hub will be next to the Delhi–Howrah railway line and next to NH-91, making it easy to get to by both rail and road.

A new railway siding and a long-haul track will make it possible to move cargo directly from the DFC to the hub. Officials said this would enable high-speed movement of goods to ports, airports, and industrial centres across India, said officials.

The MMLH is being built as a large-scale freight hamlet. It will have space for containers and bulk goods, as well as warehousing, cold storage, and value-added services including packing, assembly, and distribution. It will also have offices for logistics companies, fuel stations, weighbridges, parking zones, and essential utilities such as power and water treatment plants, said officials.

The project will use a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and be built, financed, operated, and then given to the public (DBFOT). Officials stated it would be built in three stages.

The tender says that questions from bidders who are interested will be accepted until November 28, and the pre-bid conference will be on December 8. The deadline for submitting bids is February 6, 2026, and technical bids will be opened on February 9..

The hub will handle 0.74 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) of containerized cargo and 6.7 million tonnes of bulk freight every year in the first phase. It will have 3 million square feet (sqft) of warehousing and 0.3 million sqft of cold storage to help with this. Depending on demand, the total capacity might grow to include 12.5 million square feet of warehouses and 1.2 million square feet of cold storage.

Officials added that the chosen private partner will pay for, build, and run the hub. DMIC IITGNL will supply the site and outside infrastructure, such as roads leading to the hub and utility connections.
