The office is meant to provide better
services to the public because all of the Authority's departments will now be
housed in one facility instead of separate ones.
Officials stated on Sunday that the Noida
authority's main administrative building in Sector 96 is ready to use and would
be opened next month.
The office will provide better services to
the public because all of the Authority's divisions will now be housed in the
same building. Officials claimed that the office will be easier to get to from
different parts of Noida and Greater Noida, as well as from nearby locations.
"We have finished building and finishing
this new building... We want the building to open next month and the office to
start moving so that the departments may move to the new office. SP Singh, the
general manager of Noida authority, said, "The authority wants to provide
better services and have better interaction with the people who come to work
there."
The project was once supposed to have two
towers with 18 and 9 stories, but the design was changed later. The present
plan is for two towers, one with four floors and one with eight floors, on a
six-acre property. Officials added that the new cost of the project is now ₹390
crore, down from the original estimate of ₹478 crore.
Right now, the offices of several departments
and work groups of the Authority are spread out throughout several areas.
NP Singh, head of the Gautam Budh Nagar
District Development Residents Welfare Association, said, "People from all
walks of life have to go to the Noida authority for property and civic issues
from different sectors and villages." The authority's main office is in
Sector 6, the horticulture department is in Sector 39, and the Jal department
works out of Sector 5 for now. People will benefit greatly from the new office
once it is up and running.
The administrative office in Sector 6 is
small and doesn't have a lot of parking space, which is important. Officials
claimed that visitors typically park their automobiles and motorcycles on the
side of the road, which makes the area crowded.
The office building started on January 5,
2016, and the first deadline for finishing it was January 2, 2019. They further
said that the project was delayed because of the Covid-19 outbreak and problems
with the contractor.
In 2022, a new contractor was given the rest
of the civil works after the first contractor failed to finish them.
The Authority also asked the Indian Institute
of Technology Delhi to do a structural safety evaluation while the work was on
hold. The Institute's assessment from December 2024 pointed out problems with
structural parts like walls, beams, and pillars and suggested ways to fix them.
Officials said that the requested
improvements have now been made.
