Aqua Line expansion DPR revised for improved
connectivity with Delhi Metro: NMRC: December 12, 2023. The Noida Metro Rail
Corporation (NMRC) announced on December 11 that it has made changes to the
Noida Metro (Aqua Line) Extension detailed project report (DPR) to provide
seamless connectivity with the Delhi Metro Blue Line.
"There is a constraint on continuous
connectivity between the Sector-51 Aqua Line station and the Sector-52 Blue
Line station of the Delhi Metro. Although a footbridge is planned to connect
Sector 51 (Aqua Line) and Sector 52 (Blue Line) stations, it will not alleviate
commuters' problems permanently due to the 430-meter gap between the two
stations," stated NMRC managing director Lokesh M.
A permanent solution for seamless linking of the
two lines has been developed by a small adjustment in the route of the Aqua
Line expansion up to Knowledge Park-V. "Action has already been taken to
implement these revisions in the DPR. He stated that the updated DPR would be
processed for approvals shortly.
NMRC Submits Plan for Noida Metro Extension
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has submitted a
detailed project report (DPR) to the Noida and Greater Noida authorities for
the extension of the Aqua Line Metro line from Sector 142 to the Botanical
Garden. If the idea is approved, the Noida Metro Authority will build eight
stations as part of the extension. The scheduled stations are: Botanical
Garden, Noida Sector 44, Noida Office, Noida Sector 97, Noida Sector 105, Noida
Sector 108, Noida Sector 93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College. While the
route will end at the current Noida Sector 142 station, Botanical Garden will
function as an interchange point for the NMRC's Aqua Line and the Delhi Metro's
Magenta and Blue lines. The project covers a total length of 11.56 kilometres.
