Noida Authority forms two committees to restart work on the golf course and new office complex

The Noida authority has appointed two committees to examine into the finance concerns for the under-construction golf course and its new office complex.

The Noida authority has constituted two committees to investigate financial concerns for the under-construction golf course in Sector 151A and the authority's new office complex in Sector 96, top officials familiar with the subject said on Tuesday.

Officials stated that these two projects have been postponed due to budget escalation. The two committees will fix financial concerns and help recommence the work so that the two projects may be completed and delivered without further delay, according to officials.

One committee is led by the authority's additional chief executive officer, Satish Pal, and includes officer on special duty Mahendra Prasad and the finance controller. It will investigate the financial escalation of the golf course project.

The second committee is led by the authority's additional chief executive officer, Sanjay Kumar Khatri, and includes officer on special duty Mahendra Prasad and the finance controller. It will examine at the budget escalation issues at the Sector 96 office block. The two committees will submit their reports within the next month, clearing the path for construction completion, according to officials.

"Once the committees prepare and submit their respective reports, the authority will decide on the next course of action," said Lokesh M, CEO of the Noida Authority.

On Monday, Lokesh M and other top officials evaluated the two projects and suggested design improvements.

The authority has chosen to revise the interior design of the golf course project, resulting in a budget increase, according to officials.

According to officials, the authority has decided to change the design of rooms, departments and public space at the Sector 96 building in order to make it more user-friendly.

The authority had previously agreed to construct a single storage room for all departments files, as well as a separate seating area for visitors to each.

However, the proposed adjustments call for separate storage areas for each department. Officials stated that this adjustment was aimed to make data storing more orderly and file searching easier.

Officials also stated that the CEO room and public space for guests will be designed such that the general public is not inconvenienced.

The administration is creating an 18-hole golf course in Sector 151A of the Noida-Greater Noida Motorway. The authority has already completed the administrative and cafeteria structures and is now accelerating landscaping efforts.

The authority engaged a private business to create the golf course in June 2021, making it the second golf course developed by the government after the first 18-hole golf course in Sector 38A was established in the 1990s.

During the 198th board meeting in February 2020, the authority approved a provisional budget of ₹90 crore to develop the golf course at Sector 151A. The project consists of a 90-acre golf course, a 20-acre adventure sports facility, and a 10-acre heliport.

In February 2015, the Noida government started work on a 477 crore green building project in Sector 96. The project was intended to be completed by 2019. However, the authority has missed several deadlines in the past. The authority intended to construct two buildings: an 18-story and an eight-story.

The authority engaged a new contractor for the construction work in October 2022 after the previous one caused delays. According to officials, around 70% of the project has been completed to date.
