17 enterprises get plots, Yeida eyes ₹5,800 cr investment, 10k jobs


Yeida has allocated land to 17 enterprises for an investment of Rs 5,800 crore and 10,000 employment, which will help in the development of Greater Noida and support Noida airport. 

 

GREATER NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has awarded land to 17 companies, which officials estimate will invest approximately Rs 5,800 crore and create about 10,000 employment in the region, as companies will start building, it said on Sunday. 

 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave allotment letters to these enterprises for investment in the Yedia area at an event in Lucknow on Friday, RK Singh, chief executive officer (CEO) of Yeida said in a release.

 

These projects are in major sectors like renewable energy and battery manufacturing, electronics and electrical equipment manufacturing, IT/ITeS and data processing, transport, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) manufacturing and advanced industrial components among others, the CEO said.

The state government has established Noida International Airport in Jewar which will prove to be a vital engine for regional growth. Accordingly, the latest allotments would build the foundation for a world-class aerotropolis which will attract global enterprises, boost exports and give Uttar Pradesh a prominent position on the global investment map, an official said. 

 

“Through these projects, the state will get investment of thousands of crores of rupees and over 10,000 jobs will be generated and growth will be boosted in this region. This region will see new levels of growth with the airport and fresh investment,” said Banerjee.

 

The largest investment in the solar and green energy sector is being made by CESC Green Power Ltd with setting of a 3 GW capacity solar cell and module manufacturing factory on 100 acres of land in Sector 8-D, officials said.

HT repeatedly reached out to the two companies for a reaction but there was no response.

 

Besides, they said, there are also IT/ITES enterprises of making investment in the area among others.

The Noida airport is set to start commercial operations from June 15 and Indigo would be the first airline, officials said.
