Airbnb has taken up 46,437 sq ft office space
for its GCC at DLF Cybercity, Gurugram at a monthly fee of ₹61.53 lakh under a
five-year lease arrangement
Propstack obtained documents indicated that
Airbnb has rented 46,437 sq ft of office space for its Global Capability Centre
(GCC) at DLF Cybercity in Gurugram at a monthly price of ₹61.53 lakh on a
five-year lease arrangement.
Global Capability Centers are offshore or
distant centers that corporations utilize for technology, operations,
analytics, finance, and support tasks.
“The growth of Airbnb in DLF Cybercity is a
reflection of the momentum we are seeing in India’s commercial real estate
market. Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have transitioned from just a back
office to the key driver of premium institutional leasing. “There is a strong
appetite for grade-A top-of-the-line infrastructure as tech leaders are signing
long-term, high-value leases at more than ₹130 a sq ft,” said Raja Seetharaman,
co-founder of Propstack.
Mailed to both DLF and Airbnb. We will update
the story if we get a response.
Airbnb, which connects home owners and
travelers looking for a short-term stay, has introduced a whole suite of
services to manage end-to-end parts of a user’s journey. The platform has
launched a number of new features including in-app auto rentals, supermarket
deliveries, airport pickups and luggage storage.
“We will continue to invest and play the long
game in India,” Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky told PTI in an interview earlier this
month. India is one of the fastest expanding worldwide marketplaces powered by
a burgeoning middle class and travel-hungry Gen Z.
Chesky, who is also the co-founder of the
company, laid out a long-term vision for the Indian market, citing the
company’s continuous investments in the country to cater to a growing base of
domestic travellers. “I think my approach in India is to play the long game,
really engage in the country, invest in the community, and make sure everyone
in India knows Airbnb is here to stay. This is one of the markets that I am
most focused on." This one I think is going to expand the fastest. And I
think one day it’s going to be one of the biggest markets on Airbnb in the
world,” Chesky said.
Office demand in 1Q 2026 dominated by GCCs
and flex operators
GCCs and flex have become the two greatest
drivers of office demand, accounting for 45.5% and 25.9% of demand in the first
quarter of 2026. At city level, Bengaluru topped the pack with 24.8% share of
Q1 leasing volumes, followed by Mumbai with 19.5% and Hyderabad with 16.8%.
Delhi NCR, with a share of 14.2%, was followed by Pune with a solid 14.5%, the
research said.
